Print On Demand (POD)
Architecture
POD was developed to effortlessly and proficiently add database records to paper forms. Utilizing POD, mobile data capture personnel append only new data to forms. Upon data verification, the original record is updated with new additional data. The record is then returned to the original back-office system or database.
Each form created with POD is assigned a unique pattern identification number. This ID number is tied to each unique record to ensure the integrity of data throughout the workflow process. From an end user’s perspective, this roundtrip workflow integration is transparent and lessens workload. On the backside, POD requires a connection method to attach with the client’s back-office system / database. This relationship can be made through:
- XML
- CSV
- ODBC
POD will export information from back office systems, associate a unique pattern file to a record and print the form. Once the form is completed and verified, POD will import the new data to the back office system from which it originated.
Installation
Rover INK® Enterprise Software is required to install Rover INK® POD.
The installation process will require an interface to the customer’s back-office system. This interface is developed by Rover Technology Fusions and typically requires one to six weeks for implementation.
